Mitsui Chemicals produced a liquid EPT rubber (EPDM) that was envisaged for sealing materials for automotive electrical parts and fuel cell gaskets, and exhibited it at the People and Vehicles Technology Exhibition 2014. Compared with the current liquid silicone, this liquid rubber has a moisture permeability of only 1/30, and is more resistant to acid and alkali. In addition, molding time is shorter than ordinary ethylene propylene rubber.
By applying in a liquid state and applying a high temperature, a cross-linking reaction can occur to produce a product. In addition, it can also be integrally molded with metal, and a metal treated with “NMT (Nano Molding Technology)” using Dato Plastics is used, and a sufficient shear strength of 1 MPa is obtained at the joint portion of the test sheet, and it is joined in a tensile test. The part did not peel off and the EPT rubber broke. Since this rubber has high fluidity before molding, it can fully enter the unevenness of the fine metal surface during the NMT treatment.
When integrally formed with the metal, is added to a liquid ready EPT rubber crosslinking agent, and adding a liquid catalyst EPT rubber, both mixing prior to molding, the die holder 170 ℃ emitted to a high temperature. After about 15 seconds of cross-linking reaction, a molded article can be obtained.
